Life beyond Lancaster Environment Centre
After completing his BSc Geography degree, Thomas then decided to undertake a masters in sustainable water management, learning key skills which he now uses on a daily basis, developing hydraulic models to assess flood risks as a graduate modeller.
Michaela has been at Lancaster University in some capacity since 2006, gradually progressing from an initial BSc Geography student, to becoming a lecturer in organisational health and wellbeing at the university, putting good use to the academic knowledge gained throughout her time spent at the university.
A third year module which looked at the issues and development of cities overtime inspired Benjamin to pursue a career in planning, and after graduate a MSc at Cardiff University, Benjamin is now doing exactly that.
Emma’s experience of GIS and hydrology modules undertaken at Lancaster University prepared her excellently for her current career as a flood mapper for an environmental consulting.
The second year Communicating Geography module helped Adam to decide his career path. He’s now a teacher at a local secondary school and training the next generation of geographers!
After completing her Physical Geography degree, Nicola took some time out to relax and decide her next steps. She then returned to Lancaster to undertake an internship with LEC as a Careers and Alumni Support Officer. Following this, she has successfully secured a full-time role as a recruitment, conversion and marketing coordinator (RCM).
Becca has gone from strength to strength in her journey with Lancaster University, graduating with first class honours before completing a PhD.
Darren successfully runs a range of practical student opportunities within environmental and sustainability projects as the Green Lancaster Coordinator for Lancaster University Students Union (LUSU)…
