A career in catastrophe risk

As an alumnus of Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) Hannah Frost was invited to return as a panel member for the 2017 LEC careers event What can I do with my degree?

During the event, Frost explained her journey to becoming a catastrophe risk analyst including information about her current employer WillisRe. There is currently a shortage of catastrophe risk analysts, so this is an exciting sector to explore. Key skills include data analysis and using GIS.

“The catastrophe analytics field is a growing aspect of the insurance market and there are plenty of opportunities to develop into interesting new fields such as cyber, pandemic and terrorism insurance..” – Hannah Frost

See below for a presentation explaining what a career in catastrophe risk involves, including steps and ideas to get into this sector.
