LEC Careers Team

Andy Folkard

Andy is the LEC Careers and Alumni tutor. He is the first point of call for anything related to careers provision in the department.

He is not a careers advisor though, so please contact the University Careers Service if this is what you need.

Pam Pickles

Pam is the Student Employability Manager for the Faculty of Science and Technology. Pam oversees the FST internship programme, works closely with the faculty’s Business Development Managers to provide internship opportunities and supports the students and businesses involved. She works in collaboration with colleagues across our three other faculties, the central Careers Service, Research and Enterprise Support and our Students’ Union.

Please also contact Pam if you’re an employer interested in hosting an internship or attending an event.

Sarah Fox

Sarah is a Team Leader for central Careers, and is the Careers Consultant for LEC students. Along with her team of careers consultants, Sarah can provide one-to-one careers advice appointments as well as mock interviews which can be booked through Target Connect.

Sarah can also advise on employer led events and run careers workshops for students as part of the curriculum or as an additional service for LEC students.

Carolyn Hayes

Carolyn is LEC’s Graduate Placement Manager and can help under and postgraduate students to find an industry partner for dissertation projects and long term collaborative research projects. This gives students hands on, relevant industry experience whilst gaining academic credit. Undergraduates should enrol onto LEC301 for this option and postgraduates should get in touch with Carolyn early in the academic year. Long term industry research projects will be advertised on an ad hoc basis.
