Established in the 1930s, Di Donna is a family-run business that, three generations later, has become one of the largest exporters of table grapes out of Italy, and a proud supplier to the Waitrose programme. Di Donna grow over 350 hectares of table grapes including red, white, black and limited selection varieties. Just over 2 years ago, Di Donna set about improving its biodiversity offering, and following the project’s initial success it is now looking to roll this out to all of its farms within the next 5 years.

In this short video, Raffaella shows how making just small changes on the farm has seen a significant increase in biodiversity, and how these findings are having a positive effect on production. Di Donna continues to transform areas of untouched land for the purpose of biodiversity. The company’s next projects will include a rose garden, a box for bat preservation, and an ecological corridor to increase the number of beneficial insects.
