Molly Sander (United Utilities)

Molly loved her time at Lancaster, so much in fact that she chose to extend her three year undergraduate course to a four year postgraduate course, highlighting the variety of modules available and the plethora of field trips as highlights. However, Molly was also exceptionally active in extra-curricular activites, captaining the Bowland women’s netball team, and acting as education and welfare officer for Bowland JCR; gaining skills from both academia and her social life, such as communication and presenting, which are now fundamental to her role at United Utilities.

Max Brambani (JBA Consulting)

Max highlights the skills that he gained whilst studying BSc Geography at undergraduate and from his PgCert in Flood & Coastal Risk Management as fundamental to his current role as a hydraulic modeller. However, Max’s time at Lancaster also saw him develop as a person, making long-lasting friendships, with fond memories of international field-trips to Iceland and Spain.

Catherine Mills (Yorkshire Water)

Studying at Lancaster sparked Catherine’s interest in the water industry, developing her skills in water resource management and beyond, which is now fundamental to her current role as a risk and outperformance manager. However, Catherine also enjoyed extra-curricular activities, which included volunteering at a cheetah sanctuary and volunteering for WaterAid, of which she is still involved in.

Katie Daniels (Mott Macdonald)

Katie enjoy the versatility of her BSc Geography degree scheme at Lancaster, constantly learning new skills from a mix of different modules, which included highlights such as the third year trip to Croatia, a before discovering her passion for transport planning. Whilst at university, Katie was an active member if the Lancaster University Dance Society and would wholly recommend students to join!

Lancaster University’s Faculty of Science and Technology’s internships provided Cara with the experience required for her current job role, whilst the flexibility of courses within LEC allowed Cara to develop a broad range of skills, fully preparing her for current role as a Sustainability Analyst.
