Shakespeare Festival and Schools 2012
Teachers will be warmly welcomed as participants and auditors to the Conference. On Friday 24th February the programme will feature a local schools’ open rehearsal, 2 plenary lectures and a reception featuring the launch of “Teaching Shakespeare” a new magazine published by the British Shakespeare Association. A strand of workshops and panels focussed on children’s Shakespeare and on teaching will run through the weekend. (See programme).
The British Shakespeare Association has just formally approved a new type of Associate Membership designed for all members of staff and pupils at schools and colleges. Teachers and pupils wishing to attend the conference should contact the British Shakespeare Association for details.
In association with the Duke’s Theatre and Demi-Paradise Productions, from 20th February to 24th March Lancaster and Cumbria Universities will also be running an extended series of workshops and talks designed for schools and members of the public as part of the Lancaster “Season of Shakespeare”.
