TITLE

Trust in the VoIDs: following the trail of £580,000 of public funds

ABSTRACT

This talk explores what happens to trust and accountability when generative AI tools help decide who receives public funding. It draws on a recent bid for funding into AI-generated voice descriptions which was then screened out at the AI assessment stage before reaching a human, and asks whether Large Language Models can be relied on as reviewers.
