Matt HIlton and Katie Twomey will be giving talks at BPS Developmental Section and Social Section 2015, to be held in Manchester on 9-11 September.
Matt’s talk, Investigating the link between shyness and early word learning, describes an eye-tracking study of a word learning task designed to tease apart differences in the way shy and less-shy children learn. Katie’s talk, Curiosity optimises learning in a simulated categorisation task, presents a neural network simulation of infants’ category learning and explores how we can make a model that learns via “curiosity”.
