Comics Forum (ongoing in Leeds)
Comics Forum, an established forum and academic conference on all things comics and graphic novels is taking place in Leeds, aligned with the Thought Bubble comics convention in Leeds.
It is absolutely fabulous to be a part of this diverse comics community, see old friends and meet new ones. The presentations and conversations so far have been invigorating, as always.
The university network community in the UK is growing, as the new sister hub/network, similar to Lancaster’s ReOPeN and TORCH’s C&GN:The Politics of Form at Oxford, is starting at UAL, building on a long established tradition of comics studies pioneered by Professor Roger Sabin (Central St Martins), and a number of comics scholars at UAL, such as Ian Hague, Nina Mickwitz, Ian Horton, and Maggie Gray (based at Kingston) .
