Dr Sara Wasson is a Contributing Member of the British Pain Society, and her research considers the marginalisation of particular subjects in a range of historical contexts and medical settings. She has a particular interest in the way that pain and distress may resist narrative representation. She is Primary Investigator on the AHRC Research Network Translating Chronic Pain.
Professor Sharon Ruston works on the relationships between literature, medicine and science in the Romantic period, including period representations of pain and anaesthesia. She is Co-Investigator on the AHRC Research Network Translating Chronic Pain.
