Enter the Competition
Thanks to sponsorship from the EURO Working Group on Stochastic Optimization (EWGSO), the conference will host a Best Student Paper Competition. To be eligible, the student must be enrolled as a PhD student at the time of submission.
Eligible students wishing to enter the competition should submit a full paper by the regular submission deadline. The paper does not need to have been published previously; if it has been published, the publication date must be no earlier than 1 January 2025. The paper must not exceed 35 pages (11pt font, 1.5 line spacing, 1 inch margins), including tables, figures, references, and appendices. The paper should be principally authored by the student, although co-authors are permitted, provided that their contributions are clearly stated. The student entering the competition must be a registered participant for the paper to be considered for the prize.
During submission, students should indicate whether they would also like their paper to be considered for presentation in the regular conference programme if it is not shortlisted for the competition. If so, they should also submit an abstract by the regular abstract submission deadline.
Shortlisted papers will be presented by the student authors in a dedicated competition session at ECSO–CMS 2027. A jury will select the Best Student Paper and runner-up.
