Lancaster ‘Glocal’ History Walking Tour (Staff & Students Only)
Thursday 4th June | 10:00am–12:00pm
Meeting point: Entrance to the John O’Gaunt Gate, Lancaster Castle
Join Decolonising Lancaster University for a guided Glocal History Walking Tour exploring Lancaster’s history through a decolonial and globally connected perspective.
This walk invites Lancaster University staff and students to reflect on how local spaces and landmarks are shaped by wider global histories, including colonial trade, movement, and exchange. Through key sites across the city, we will explore stories that are often absent from traditional historical narratives.
The tour begins at the entrance to the John O’Gaunt Gate at Lancaster Castle and runs from 10am to 12pm.
Please note: this event is open to Lancaster University staff and students only.
