The ongoing war involving the Islamic Republic of Iran, Israel and the United States has had devastating consequences for people in Iran and across the Middle East/West Asia. In this timely online discussion, Professor Simon Mabon (Lancaster University) and Dr Shabnam Holliday (Plymouth University) will critically reflect on the nature of the conflict, its impact on ordinary people, and the historical forces that continue to shape the present moment.
At a time marked by misinformation, fearmongering and scapegoating, this event offers an opportunity to hear evidence-based and informed perspectives on the realities of this deadly conflict and what the future may hold.
This event is a collaboration between the Lancaster University School of Global Affairs and the Decolonising Lancaster University Network (DLU).
Open to the public – please share widely within your networks.
Registered attendees will receive a Microsoft Teams invitation closer to the event date.
