Collaborations
CSS is a member of the STSMN (Science and Technology Studies in the Midlands and North) network, which brings together colleagues from STS centres, institutes and groupings at universities in Lancaster, Leeds, Nottingham, Sheffield, and York.
Our work has been supported by grants and income from EASST, EPSRC, ESRC, the EU (Horizon 2020), Intel, and NWCR. The Centre also receives support from the Department of Sociology at Lancaster University.
Our approach is resolutely interdisciplinary. This has included recent collaborations with other research centres at Lancaster, including:
- Centre for Gender Studies
- Centre for Social Futures
- Centre for the Study of Environmental Change
- Centre for Technological Futures
The Centre regularly hosts research events including conferences, seminar series and events funded by its annual funding call. It has a thriving postgraduate community and hosts visiting researchers.
