Medieval English Theatre Conference Sponsored Panel: Creaturely Environments

On 27th March 2021 Lancaster University hosted the 42nd annual Medieval English Theatre Society conference on the theme of Environments, organised by Dr Clare Egan. Due to the pandemic this event was held online.

The Northern Premodern Seminar Series and the Department of English Literature and Creative Writing kindly sponsored a panel at the conference entitled ‘Creaturely Environments’.

The panel featured a digital interlude performance of the play Thersites (attr. Nicholas Udall, c. 1537) by the Beyond Shakespeare Company and a talk on the play by Lancaster’s Dr Liz Oakley-Brown entitled ‘Surfaces, Snails and Somatics in Thersites‘. The panel was one of the highlights of the conference and the organisers warmly thank all those involved.
