Mobilities Pedagogies Symposium 2018
This was a fantastic day at Wilfried Laurier University, organised by Judith Nicholson and her colleagues. The presentations and discussions on how we teach and learn about mobilities were inspiring, rounded off with a public lecture by Mimi Sheller on Mobility Justice & Urban Equity. From reports of courses and methods for walking and working with students to debates on how mobilities research is inherently about change and transformation and thus a ‘pedagogical’ and transformative form of research co-creation by default, we had a great time!
THANK YOU to Judith Nicholson, Jenna Hennebry, Carol B. Duncan, David Cuff, Jason Sparkes, Sylvia Hoang.
Ideas for supporting a Mobilities Pedagogies Exchange include: Online resources such as the Pokemon Go Syllabus, a crowdsourced collection of literature on Pokemon Go studies, joint dinners, co-teaching, recorded mini-lectures by researchers in the field, teach-ins, teach-outs, more symposia, pedagogy corners at existing conferences and workshops and more.
