  • 12 September The Department of Historical and Geographical Sciences and the Ancient World at the University of Padua has opened a 24-months postdoctoral position to develop research in line with the Department project on Mobilities & the Humanities. Candidates shall submit a research project exploring new paradigms for the study of mobilities in the humanities that could also possibly animate the Digital Laboratory for Mobility Research (MOBILAB) and the Centre for Advanced Studies in Mobility and the Humanities which are under construction at the Department. The call is open to anyone with a research profile in geography, history, anthropology, classical languages and philology holding a PhD title. Candidates shall have carried out documented research activities at non-Italian universities or other research institutions for at least 6 months in the 3 years prior to the selection announcement deadline.

  • Social Futures Handbook Call Mobilities are critical to social futures, and we invite contributions on topics including the critical role of mobile utopia, mobilities practices, mobilities systems in shaping futures, the power of the mobilities paradigm as an analytical orientation for the study of social futures, mobilities as a methodological approach to mainstreaming or democratising the future and to ‘world’ with greater care and ethical circumspection.

  • Journal of Transport History Call Commercial Aviation History in Latin America: We are inviting scholarly contributions dealing with the basic subjects that are included in the history of commercial aviation in the region for a proposed Special Issue of the Journal of Transport History scheduled for April 2019. In existence for over 50 years, The Journal of Transport History publishes scholarly research and commentary on the history of transport, travel, tourism and mobility, and their relationships with planning and policy.
