The Envision NERC DTP comprises six institutions led by Lancaster University. The DTP offers training and other development opportunities to help postgraduate research students foster and improve the skills required in their research and future careers.


Researcher Development Programme
The DTP training programme is designed to complement the training and support offered by your own research group. The provision includes:Face-to-face courses and workshopsOnline coursesCross-institutional cohort building activitiesAll NERC DTP training activities are mapped to the Researcher Development Framework (RDF), a national initiative to promote the knowledge, behaviours and attributes of successful researchers. There are four domains that characterise what researchers need to develop and demonstrate for their career progression. Courses outlined are indicative of what is on offer and the exact details may be subject to change. Please contact the relevant institution for further details of the courses on offer.It is not mandatory to attend all courses. You are encouraged to attend training sessions at your home institution and there may a charge incurred in attending external courses.
