I studied undergraduate Physical Geography and Geology at Royal Holloway, University of London. During my undergraduate degree I focussed mainly on palaeoclimate reconstruction. After graduating I went onto study an MSc in Quaternary Science at Royal Holloway.
Research Project:
My PhD research uses speleothem records from Northern Spain to reconstruct climate between 30,000 – 45,000 years ago. It was during this time period that the Neanderthals are believed to have become extinct and some scientists believe dramatic climate fluctuations were responsible. My PhD research aims to provide a key record of climate change during this period and will help to determine if there were any significant changes in climate which could have contributed to the demise of the Neanderthals.
