Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan performs ‘The Vocabulary of Neglect’

At Workshop 2 ‘Paradoxes of Healthcare Entitlements in the Covid-19 Pandemic: Crisis Response and Hostile Environments‘ we were joined by poet and writer, Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan. After listening to the discussions, Suhaiymah crafted a poem ‘The Vocabulary of Neglect’.

It is an extraordinary response to the knowledge and experiences brought by diverse researchers, practitioners and healthcare providers to that workshop. Suhaiymah’s poem cuts to the bone of the discussed injustices of the health, (health)care and politicisation of mobile and marginalised people during the early stages of the pandemic.

At Workshop 3, in September 2021, Suhaiymah gave a live performance. It was powerful. It is a powerful poem. Please watch it.
