Walking & Talking

Our project drew on the ‘mobile’ method of walking, talking and taking photographs to help the children and young people share their stories of the floods. We started by going for a walk in the local places that had been flooded.

Everyone took photos of things or places that reminded them of the flood, including some of the remaining flood-damaged furniture and carpets in skips.

There were also scenes of recovery like houses being rebuilt and renovated and on-going essential drainage works.

We all returned to the workshop and in a ‘phototalk’ session the children used the photos they took on the walk to share stories in the group.
