A Short Introduction to Attachment

In the video below, Emma from the LEHSS team gives an overview of attachment and how the idea of attachment strategies can help us better understand children’s behaviour when they are feeling stressed or under threat in some way. Emma outlines how these attachment strategies develop, which can then help us think about how best to support children in a school environment.

We offer a two-hour online training session on attachment and how using ideas from attachment theory can help us build better relationships with pupils and help us better understand some of the reasons for behaviour and emotions that might be challenging or distressing.

If you find this introduction to attachment approaches interesting and useful, please go to our training events site to book a place on the longer session for yourself and your colleagues.
