Charge up your body
Ana Piñeyro (RCA London), Heather Leslie (Department of Environment and Health, VU Amsterdam)
What if we could charge up our physical bodies and share energy via textiles?
We interconnect ourselves through movement with torsional materials to give and get energy: kinetic, potential, mechanical, and sources we will have discovered in the everyday future. This energy is enabled by the torsion and chemistries of the textile structures combined with the power of our bodies that is shared in a public space.
This artefact invites us to add, collect, store, use and especially share energy that comes and goes in forms that are intuitive and counterintuitive, and beyond the imagination unless revealed by the interaction between a living thing and the energetic textile. Don’t just charge up your phone, charge up your body and your universe!
