Since 2011, this two day annual conference has been convened and run by STS postgraduates at Lancaster, and it brings together academic staff and postgraduate STS researchers from across campus and across the North West of England (including the University of Manchester and the University of Liverpool). It provides an opportunity for PhD and MA students to present their work, receive and give feedback and learn about the variety of STS research that is carried out in the North West of England.

The conference creates a supportive and engaging inter-disciplinary environment for the development of STS work-in-progress. As well students presenting on their work, students also receive feedback by faculty and student rapporteurs.

The conference also features keynote speakers. These have included: Noortje Marres (Goldsmiths, University of London), Jane Calvert (University of Edinburgh), Anne Kerr (University of Leeds), Annemarie Mol (University of Amsterdam) and John Law (Open University and Lancaster University).

The conference is a great way to learn more about the kinds of STS work happening within the North West, and become part of a community of STS researchers.
