**This internship is available exclusively to undergraduates or postgraduates who have competed the Richardson Institute Internship.**

Organisation: Moonshot CVE is a London-based social enterprise specialising in countering violent extremism. We design new methodologies and technologies to enhance the capacity of our clients to respond effectively to violent extremism. The role will focus on assisting Moonshot CVE’s staff in all elements or project design and delivery. This placement is a step away from the traditional policy-oriented role. You will be gaining invaluable insight into the more practical side of innovative methodologies aimed at preventing and disrupting violent extremism and radicalisation.

Main Duties

  • Conduct research on a range of subject areas to provide briefings for management.
  • Gather and analyse data from various sources, regularly working with Excel and Sheets.
  • Draft and edit internal and external company documents including campaign reports and communications outputs.
  • Attend staff and project meetings, potentially including meetings with various clients.
  • Contribute ideas and perspectives to discussions on strategy as well as keeping the team informed of updates in the tech/CVE space.
  • Offer administrative support if and when relevant projects require it.

Skills Required

The ideal candidate will be expected:

  • To possess experience or clear interest in the issues of radicalisation, extremism and terrorism, or one of Moonshot Solutions’ core work areas (found here: http://moonshotsolutions.com/)
  • To be confident with their computer skills, particularly with excel and the handling of information.
  • To have a sound grasp of social media platforms.
  • To be willing to relocate to London for the full duration of their placement.
  • To possess, above all, a willingness to learn, particularly about extremist recruitment and methods of response.
  • The successful applicant will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement with Moonshot CVE.

They will be:

  • Trustworthy and able to deal with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Accurate and have high attention to detail.
  • Able to multi-task and deal with ad hoc requests.
  • Able to work independently as part of a larger team.
  • Able to commit to a full-time schedule over the course of the placement.
