FASS Internship Scheme- Assistant Producer

Deco Publique are looking for a creative Assistant Producer to join their growing team in the build up to and during the peak season of events. They would like to work with someone who can contribute to the planning, festival build, administration in the office and delivery dates.
The Assistant Producer will work with artistic project and festival producer Deco Publique, a creative practice based by the sea in Morecambe. Their work is about place and experience – considering the cultural possibilities across festivals, events and projects.

Main Duties
The role may include the tasks such as the following but responsibilities will be flexible based on the candidate’s skills and suitability. Mentoring and support will be provided.

  • Internet based research guided by the production team.
  • Working with the team to plan the programme including festival locations, creating a set up plans,scheduling workshops and entertainment, equipment lists, staff planning.
  • Sourcing providers for equipment and requesting price quotes or booking equipment.
  • Communicating with musicians, entertainers, artists and workshop providers – compiling their requirements and providing their arrival information.
  • Communicating with food traders on their requirements and collating their information.
  • Joining the event set up team to build the festival infrastructure and assisting with the delivery of events.

Skills Required

  • Interest in event management, especially in the creative industries.
  • An eye for detail and desire to create visually pleasing events and projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.
  • Willingness to get stuck into physical work on event days.
  • Willingness to travel to Morecambe office (next to train station and has parking)

Start date: Flexible

Rate of pay: £9.20 per hour including holiday pay for 140 hours
