FASS Internship Scheme- Research and Marketing/ Publicity Assistant

**This internship is open exclusively to 2018/19 Richardson Institute Internship Programme participants.**

 

Organisation:       Sectarianisation, Proxies and De-Sectarianisation Project based at the Richardson Institute , Lancaster University

 

SEPAD is based at the Richardson Institute, in the Department of PPR. Funded by Carnegie Corporation, the project looks at sectarianism in the Middle East and efforts to reduce violent sectarian tensions. For more details see: www.sepad.org.uk

Main Duties

  • Work with SEPAD team (director and PhD fellows in particular) to help organise events, reports and activities over the summer and into the next academic year.
  • Help develop and manage social media profiles (YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and others).
  • Collate resources pertaining to the intellectual study of sectarianism, proxies and de-sectarianisation.
  • Provide other support to project team as required.

Skills Required

  • Good awareness of current debates in Politics/Middle East Studies.
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge of social media.
  • Excellent written English. Arabic language skills would be an asset.
  • Organised, with the ability to work independently and in a team

Important information

  • The rate of pay is £9.20 (including holiday pay) for 140 hours
  • Closing date: 31st May
  • Interview date: TBC
  • The role will start in late June.
