Paper presentation at SESAR Innovation Days 2024

We are pleased to announce that our research paper “Airspace Sector Design: An Optimization Approach” has been accepted for presentation at the prestigious SESAR Innovation Days (SIDs) 2024 in Rome, Italy. The presentation will be in Session 3: Network and Flow Management from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM on November 13th.

Our paper, authored by Go Nam Lui, Guglielmo Lulli, M. Florencia Lema-Esposto, and Rebeca Llorente Martinez introduces a novel mixed integer programming approach for airspace sector design, complemented by an efficient two-stage heuristic solution method. This innovative research contributes to the advancement of air traffic management (ATM) optimization.

SIDs, the flagship event of the SESAR Joint Undertaking, is distinguished by its unique focus on exploratory research in ATM. The conference serves as the primary platform for sharing progress and disseminating cutting-edge ATM research findings within the European aviation community. We look forward to sharing our findings with the international ATM research community in Rome!
