Laura Coll, ESG Research Analyst and Customer Success Manager, Morningstar

About the Speaker: Laura Coll is a Customer Success Manager for the UK market at Morningstar, based in Madrid. In her role, she supports institutional clients in their use of Morningstar Direct, Morningstar’s global investment research platform by helping them conduct investment analysis, portfolio construction, and performance evaluation. Previously, Laura spent three years in the ESG Research team at Sustainalytics in Frankfurt, where she developed ESG Risk Ratings for companies in the Industrials and Construction sectors. During this time, she collaborated closely with the methodology team on improving indicator coverage, refining subindustry risk assessments, and enhancing controversy analysis.

Alongside her research work, Laura founded the Sustainability Network in Germany, an employee resource group aimed at promoting sustainability initiatives and engagement across the company’s German offices.

Laura holds a BS in International Relations from Ramon Llull University and an MS in Business Research (with a minor in Environmental Research) from the University of Barcelona. After completing her studies, she moved to Düsseldorf and worked as a Financial Analyst at a multinational chemicals company before transitioning into ESG research, driven by her strong interest in sustainable finance. She also holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.
