Co-investigator Jackeline Murillo-Hoyos is a Topographic and Civil Engineer from the Universidad del Valle (Colombia), Specialist in Transportation from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain), MSc and PhD in Civil Engineering from Purdue University (USA). She is an Assistant Professor at the School of Civil Engineering and Geomatics at the Universidad del Valle since 2007. She is currently the Academic Programme Director of Topographic Engineering, and since she finished her bachelor she has been involved in the research group on Transportation, Transit and Roads. Her projects and research interests are generally guided by current and emerging trends and concerns in the transportation environment; particularly the increase in funding needs due to deteriorating infrastructure, the need for accommodating pedestrian traffic in urban transportation network systems, cost predictions and management of public transit facilities, as well as the continued need to enhance the safety of the users of transportation systems. |
