Fortnightly meetings

The network will hold fortnightly meetings. These would either be informal presentations whereby individuals present upon topics they are working upon or a reading group whereby individuals are encouraged to nominate a paper either relating to something they are working upon or something they believe should be more widely read. Each would last 50 minutes. These meetings would be informal whereby individuals attend or not upon their convenience.

Workshops and Conferences

There will be a workshop on ‘Service Users in Psychiatric Research’. This is my specialist area whereby I take the novel approach of applying concepts from philosophy of science and philosophy of psychiatry to a growing area which has mainly been studied through disabilities studies and sociology. It will aim to establish the advantages, challenges and potential limitations with involving service users in psychiatric research. Şerife Tekin has agreed to be an invited speaker.

There will be a Lancaster University based one day conference on any topics relating to ‘Values and Policy in Health’. This would be aimed at PhD and above level.

Dates for these workshops and conference is yet established.
