Brampton 2 Zero CIC (Community Interest Company) was set up by six people with the common purpose of reducing the carbon footprint of Brampton and its surrounding area, and increasing the community’s resilience to climate change by providing cheaper green energy, green technology, and improving the amount of and access to community woodland, while increasing its biodiversity so that local people can appreciate the countryside.

The project has a 10 year programme covering the following key themes: Green energy production (Brampton Solar co-op)
Regenerative agriculture
Decarbonising rural home heating

Renaturing Brampton … ‘Bring back the hedgehog’/ wild gardens
Biodiversity increase, by working with farmers to plant community woodland and wildlife / pollination pathways
EV charging centre sourced by green energy
Jobs and training (for home retrofits ).
School partnering to ensure students are familiar with the projects, and can provide support for planning and planting.
Lancaster University research partnership, to ensure projects have the most up-to-date developments and provide undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
