Internship Opportunity: Production Assistant

**This internship opportunity is exclusively available to current UG/PG students studying within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Lancaster University**

Escape2Make™ (E2M™) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation* (CIO) whose mission is to be an incubator for creativity, compassion, resilience, and entrepreneurship for young people between the ages of 11 and 18. We offer the opportunity for relaxation and mental escape from the pressures of school and social media, alongside a range of short creative courses and experiences aimed at helping them learn new skills, build resilience, and make new friends in the local community, in order to improve mental and emotional wellbeing.

This internship is for a total of 280 hours.

Main Duties:

The role holder will be responsible for supporting the production of creative workshops for the second pilot of Escape2Make which will take place over three weekends: 29th and 30th June, 6th and 7th July and 13th and 14th July. It would be beneficial if the successful candidate was available for these dates too.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Liaising with and helping workshop leaders/ facilitators and producers to ensure that everything is in place for the workshops- including all information (DBS, insurance, risk assessments, information for Eventbrite, photos to advertise events) are gathered in promptly
  • Offering advice and support to facilitators to complete risk assessments (training will be provided)
  • Keeping shared systems up to date and accurate
  • Researching and finding suitable venues and source equipment
  • Helping with recruitment nearer to event- using social media and Eventbrite
  • Ensure that facilitators are clear about what they are doing and when, and have all equipment required
  • Help on the days of the weekends listed above as a runner if necessary

Key Skills:

The successful candidate will be:

  • Confident, respectful and polite; happy to visit workshop facilitators to help them with ideas or pick up the phone to politely chase information if needed
  • Highly organised and able to keep information accurate and up to date on systems
  • Excellent communication skills- able to communicate via phone and email with a variety of people, but also not afraid to report any problems to the line manager
  • Flexible and happy to help out with other relevant jobs if required
  • Positive, enthusiastic and helpful!
