FST Internship open to FASS students: Promotional Animation Designer

** This is an internship managed by FST, but applications are open to FASS students **

Create a Promotional Animation for Sustainable Energy Systems

Outline of project:

Sustainable Energy Systems Ltd are leaders in the installation and servicing of solar photovoltaics (PV) and wind turbines throughout the UK. With over 300 installations stretching from Wick in Scotland down to Molton in Devon. They also design and install energy optimisation and EV charge systems.

The company is concerned that potential customers do not understand how the systems they install work and often it is difficult to explain over the phone. In order to address this problem they would like to be able show the customer an animation or visual representation of the systems.

The successful candidate for this internship will create a number of animated clips showing how a renewable energy installation works, how energy is generated then how it is distributed through the home and into the grid. The aim is to demonstrate how the systems work using very simple animations and arrows/flow symbols showing how the power is transferred.

It is intended that the clips will appear on the company’s website and it is hoped they will give a clear picture of how a systems works whether wind, solar, battery, EV charge point or a combination.

A total of 140 hours is available to complete this work. This project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund to promote Low Carbon Innovation in the Region.
