A Dream Career wasn’t worth my Mental Health

I always wanted to be a teacher. I flip flopped between a few other choices, maybe nurses, maybe travelling the world, but it always came back to teaching. So, when I’d fought tooth and nail to get through my degree, and started training, I really thought I was set for life. Three years later I was in the worst state of metal health I have ever been and felt completely unable to ask for help or show any weakness. I want to tell you about my last year of teaching, the ways in which I became less of myself, and how I have rekindled my flame again in the 7 years since.
