We’ve spent the last four years navigating a world of gender crises, waiting lists, emotional turmoil, familial grief, and mental health anguish. I always wanted to be the strong one in the relationship, but it’s gotten harder and harder as these years have passed. I’ll tell you about how I have adjusted to a new kind of relationship with my wife, the ways in which I understand myself, the barriers and walls I’ve built to protect us both, and how I have both suffered and recovered.
