About

Lancaster University Folk Music and Dance Society formed in November 2014.

We hold themed dance sessions, folk song and tune sessions, and music sessions each week. Anyone is welcome to join us and, unless specified, all sessions are free after you’ve joined. Folk dancing and music is fun, very social, an excellent way to relax, and we are a very friendly group welcoming all dancers and musicians. You don’t need a partner or experience. Hope to see you soon!

Due to covid restrictions our activities are limited to virtual meetings at the moment. We hope to increase our activities over time. Feedback welcome 🙂

  • Dance sessions:
    • Monday 8pm, Red Rose – Morris (fortnightly)
    • Thursday 8pm, Ceilidh and International
  • Music sessions: Learning a tune a week and making recordings
  • Song sessions: Not currently meeting – we hope to resume soon after meetings in person are allowed. In the meantime there are lots of virtual song sessions individuals can join (FolkSocUK being one).
