CAISS Autumn/Winter talk: : “Human-Centred AI: helping humans to make wiser decisions under deep uncertainty” by Rob Solly

February 4 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Rob is co-founder and CEO of Cosimmetry Ltd, with 30 years of experience combining human wisdom with logic, data, modelling and AI to support complex decisions. His interests and expertise lie in the science and art of making better-informed, more-rigorous decisions on complex challenges.

Rob’s career began as an engineer, building computer models to improve the effectiveness of aircraft operations. This developed into analysis to support major procurement decisions, including decisions about the design and procurement of the Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers, and the F-35 aircraft. From 2005-2009, Rob commissioned analysis to support MOD strategy and policy, including for the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also led analysis for two UK Strategic Defence and Security Reviews, the Defence Reform Review and, through a secondment to the Pentagon, for the 2010 US Quadrennial Defense Review.

After six years as a senior executive, Rob left Government for the Metaverse technology unicorn Improbable, where he led a cutting-edge research team before leaving to start Cosimmetry which develops disruptive tools to help humans and machines collaborate on complex, urgent decisions.

This talk will be recorded.
