The High Precision Micro – Welding Unit (HPMWU) for micromechanical manufacturing (alignment accuracy better than 10 microns, deformation better than 3 microns) to support research, SMEs and specialistic training. The LMWU aims to provide the most advanced processes for micro welding, such as diffusion bonding, brazing, continuous and pulsed laser welding, induction brazing. Previous substantial investments permitted to equip the LMWU with a bespoke vacuum/multi gases furnace to 3000oC, a 2kW IPG laser welding on robotic arm, 10kW induction brazing, tabletop micro laser welding and ten different furnaces with controlled atmosphere (Argon or Nitrogen.
The equipment is operated by expert staff.
