Push is the fictional diary of Claireece Precious Jones. At the start of the novel she is pregnant for the second time having been abused by both her parents. Expelled from school when her pregnancy becomes apparent Precious enrols in an alternative programme Each One Teach One where her teacher Ms. Blue Rain and fellow students Rhonda, Jermaine, Rita, Jo Ann, and Consuela work on ‘Life Stories – our class book’.
