The Dukes Theatre in Lancaster’s Creative Communities Department is seeking 3 x Young Company Assistants for part-time work (5-8 hours per week).
These temporary paid work roles will support the Creative Communities team in providing high quality organisational support to ensure the effective delivery of activities for children and young people.
Training will include First Aid, Safeguarding and Child Protection, DBS, Arts Award (Bronze and Silver). This paid work experience will take place from week beginning 31 January 2022 to week beginning 21 March.
Job Description
- To be punctual and ready for the Young Company workshops.
- To be responsible for the register at Young Company ensuring that all members of the Youth Theatre have signed in/out of the building.
- As part of signing in/out the Young Company, to learn the names of the young people and to develop a positive relationship with the participants.
- With the Young Company Leader create and implement procedures to monitor attendance and progress of individual members.
- When required, to demonstrate an exercise or game with the Young Company Leader with energy and commitment.
- When required, to engage and join in with the games and exercises within the workshop with enthusiasm.
Person Specification
- You must be aged between 18-21 years old to apply for this role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to multi-task and respond reliably to tasks as required by the artistic team.
- Be positive and approachable when dealing with a wide range of young people at all levels.
- Highly organised and self-motivated, and meticulous about detail.
- Computer literate.
The salary for the post is National Minimum Wage and evening and weekend work will be required. Evening work involves a time commitment of between 4.00pm and 9.00pm. Travel expenses for workshops will also be covered.
