New FASS Internships – Apply Now!

We have two new exciting FASS internships available with Save Grange Lido.

Grange Lido is an iconic Art Deco gem and the only surviving seaside lido in the North West and one of just 4 in England.

Opened in 1932 and closed in 1993, the Lido is an important heritage asset and was Grade II listed in 2011. Save Grange Lido Ltd is working with the site’s owners, South Lakeland District Council, to bring about a full restoration of the site. It is much loved and prized by local people in Grange-Over-Sands and those further afield who want to see it fully restored as an iconic, community and heritage destination with a swimming pool at its heart.

Save Grange Lido are looking for students to support them by creating and collating a collection of social history stories from local residents, either on paper, audio or film.

The Archivist will be responsible for collecting and collating historic memorabilia, artefacts, documents and photographs to ensure that they are retained for eventual display in a heritage environment.
