FASS Internship: Marketing and Events Assistant- Active Lancashire

The Lancashire Sports Awards have been developed in partnership with each of Lancashire’s local authorities in order to celebrate sporting achievement and showcase best practice throughout the County. The Awards aim to pay tribute to those, young and old, that show dedication to perform at the highest level or those who work tirelessly to support individuals or club’s week in, week out, for the love of sport. This year’s Lancashire Sports Awards will be held at The Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Clayton Le Moors on Friday 22nd November 2019. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to provide the Marketing & Events Officer with Event Management Support for the annual Lancashire Sports Awards.

Total internship hours:
140 hours
Interview date:
Wednesday 28th August 2019
Rate of Pay:
£9.20 per hour (£8.21 + £0.99 holiday pay)
Working pattern:
1 day per week (flexible)
Advertising end date:
Sunday 18th August at midnight

Main duties:

This role will report to the Marketing & Events Officer at Active Lancashire and provide: –

  • Administrative Support around the nominees and the judging panel (to be held in October 2019).
  • Administrative Support with the ticket sales (including the identification of a suitable online platform that is customer facing for ticket purchases)
  • Supporting the Marketing & Events Officer with pre-event planning activities such as sponsorship seeking, entertainment bookings and liaising with third party suppliers.
  • Co-ordinating the nominee footage for Audio & Visual (A&V) Purposes that will be shown on the night of the awards.
  • Monitoring and updating the Lancashire Sports Awards Website, as and when required.

Skills required:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to write for different audiences and purposes.
  • Evidence of a high level of interpersonal skills which can be applied to a variety of situations.
  • Strong interest in Event Management
  • Ability to meet agreed personal targets and deadlines with strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Excellent IT Skills.
