Join our Connections
Luneside Studios Art Exhibition 15th – 29th July 2022
Management School HUB café
Luneside Studios artists have brought twenty pieces of art to the Management School to enhance our graduation celebrations connections. We enjoyed a variety of art including local depiction of the beautiful city of Lancaster celebrating art for all and the importance of visual connections management learning. Connecting the city of Lancaster with the Campus has been a strong focus of this project Good Place Innovators. The project has been supported by Lancaster BID who have helped us make new connections and expand our close collaboration with Luneside Studios. Here is a short snapshot of this wonderful event that made our summer 2022 very special! And what do you think about the transformation of our students?
Luneside Studios was established in Lancaster in 1983 and is located on 26 Castle park, opposite the main gate of Lancaster Castle. It is an artist-led organisation keen on promoting a supportive and enriching environment providing studio space for 13 Artists who produce a range of work from painting and drawing through to photography and printmaking. Information about the artists and their work can be found on: https://lunesidestudios.org/.
It all started when….. at the end of our learning day in Lancaster city center we knocked o this mysterious door opposite Lancaster castle. We were greeted by Nick, one of the artists in residence who gave us a tour around the studios explaining the ethos and principles of this fascinating social enterprise. For students of innovation and entrepreneurship this was a rather unexpected end of the learning day and we all knew that one day we wanted to reciprocate the generosity and host our newly acquired artist friends on our beautiful Campus. So here we are!
Some people ask – is this disruptive innovation? Not sure – is connecting with places and people in order to innovate meaningfully disruptive? We shall leave you to ponder.
