Travel & accommodation

Venue, travel and accommodation: general information

Note: While there is no registration fee for any of the Summer Schools, participants are responsible for funding the cost of their own travel and accommodation.

Venue

All our Summer School events will take place on the main Lancaster University campus. Most sessions will be taught in the Management School building.

Travel

Lancaster University’s travel page contains information on getting to the University by road, rail or air. The nearest major airport is Manchester.

Accommodation

Participants have the option of staying on campus during the Summer Schools; in this case, we recommend booking rooms directly after your place is confirmed. This accommodation is in student study-bedrooms; see the University’s Vistor Rooms page.

If you prefer not to stay in University guest rooms, the following links might be useful:

If you stay in the city of Lancaster, or in nearby Morecambe, note that the easiest way to get to and from campus is via one of the regular buses (southbound routes 2, 2A, 3, 3A and 4 all terminate at the University, and routes 41 and 42 to Preston call at the University). Any accommodation in Lancaster city centre (on or near the A6 ringroad) will be approximately 10 to 20 minutes from campus by bus.
