It is part of the tradition of the Lancaster Summer Schools in Corpus Linguistics, that we offer our participants a walking tour of Lancaster in the afternoon before the Social dinner. It is a wonderful social occasion, in which the participants can walk together enjoying Lancaster sights while getting to know each other.
Last year, the walk was guided by Dr Luke Collins and was one of the highlights of our summer schools. Although this year is very different from the previous ones in many ways, we decided to keep the tradition of the walking tours alive even in the online version of the summer schools. At least in this way, we can have the participants of our summer schools walking through the streets of Lancaster with us this year! (And there is even no need to bring the just-in-case brolly – the good weather on this tour is guaranteed!).
