Our vision is to establish a world-leading Centre of Excellence in Environmental Data Science, building on the collective strengths of Lancaster University and the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, most notably the existing intellectual leadership in both organisations in cross-disciplinary environmental science and data-driven science.

Through this, we will embrace and develop a new kind of science in response to global challenges, which is data-driven, collaborative and integrative. This is a bold and ambitious plan, which will propel us into a position of international leadership in this area.
