How does it come about that within the first few years of life, babies learn to understand the world around them and soon become active and understanding partners in social interactions, and master one of the most puzzling of phenomena, namely language?

As one of the largest groups worldwide working on early development, here at the Lancaster Babylab, we work at answering these questions.

Most of our studies involve children between 4 months and 4 years of age, but we are also working with older children up to 6 years of age.

We are interested in learning more about babies abilities before birth and also try to understand children with cognitive disorders.
