Policy briefing. We have produced a policy briefing on Reading to learn: why and how to support reading comprehension in primary schools  that we are sharing with policy makers. Please circulate and send us feedback.

2025 activity

September 2025. Presentation at annual conference of BERA. Members of the RCAN Steering Group – Jane Oakhill, Donna Lewis, Tracey Ellis, and Martin Galway led a panel discussion at the annual conference of the British Educational Research Association. The title of our panel was: What do we know about the primary reading and the teaching of reading comprehension? What are the next steps for teachers, leaders, schools and policymakers?
