Dr Gwyneth Lonergan – Principal Investigator

Dr Gwyneth Lonergan is a Wellcome Trust Research Fellow in Social Science and Bioethics in the Department of Sociology at Lancaster University.  She was awarded her PhD in Sociology from the University of Manchester in 2016.  Her PhD thesis, The impact of local geographies on migrant women’s activism: a comparative study of Manchester and Sheffield was awarded the Lewis Prize for Social Responsibility.  Prior to starting this project, she was the Research Associate on an ESRC-funded project Understanding the roles of faith based organisations in anti-trafficking, based at the University of Sheffield.  Her research interests include reproductive justice, citizenship, migration, gender, race, neoliberalism, and social movements.
